AVT High quality Audio and Remote Control over IP networks in the studio
Stereo or Mono Audio signals are available as analogue Audio signals or digital AES/EBU signals. Every Audio signal requires separate Audio connections, e.g. 4 cables for an analogue stereo Audio in- and output or 2 digital AES/EBU cables for a digital AES/EBU interface. The same is true for the GPIO data connection. Relays outputs and TTL in- and output must be interconnected between the several studio products. Now all these connections can be realized via IP. A single IP cable can be used for the interconnection of many Audio signals.
The international standard AES 67 describes high quality audio transmission over IP networks. Former company standards such as DANTE, Ravenna etc. supporting now AES 67. The functionality of GPIO interfaces are now available on IP connections. The standardized protocol Ember+ provides a lot of GPIO functions on a single IP connection.
Both applications will be shown on telephone hybrid connections to mixing consoles”.
