André, a South African based lighting engineer has recently joined Viva Afrika as a lighting specialist. With years of experience in live stage lighting, he has learned the ins and outs of any lighting control system. Maximizing the potential of a modern large-scale lighting rig requires operators and programmers to have years of hands-on experience. “A good sense of the crowd and brief is important to bring the energy of the music to the stage. You need the right combination of colours, movement and timing to tell the story that the artist is trying to convey”
André has a diploma in Sound engineering and has obtained numerous certificates that qualify him to operate all major lighting controllers, including a certificate to teach the workings of the Avolite control surface. “With my passion for lighting, I am readily able to assist customers that are wanting to create shows that are unforgettable, bringing colours and DJ’s dreams to life. I am extremely happy to join the Viva Afrika team in the success of their Hybrid journey”
